Sunday was one of those hazy lazy days of summer. Except that as Linda pointed out she and Dan biked seven miles and walked three.
Yesterday (Monday) we all did reasonably long bicycle rides in the morning. Mid-afternoon we gathered up our beach gear and went into the park (Delnor-Wiggins State Park) to our now favorite beach. Upon arrival we found that the tide was just right for the full emergence of the sand bar just off shore. This meant that after wading in a few feet of water a short distance you could step up onto the sand bar and the water would be just lapping at your ankles but with waves coming at you from three sides. Adding to our delight was the sighting of a dolphin that was also cavorting in the waves. Before heading back to shore we submerged ourselves in the warmer than usual water and briefly fought a loosing battle against the waves that wanted to toss us to the shore. The air temperature and breeze was so perfect that upon emerging from the water we just stood there and air dried rather than making a bee line for the nearest beach towel. And as the icing on the cake a snowy egret stood at the water’s edge also enjoying the scene. Just glorious.

It was hot and humid today (Tuesday) but we all did our morning bicycle rides, ran a few errands and spent the afternoon at either the pool or the beach. Such is life in paradise.
