We were out on our bicycles again this morning. This time taking a path along the beachfront for several miles. It was absolutely delightful.
Then we drove over to the Historic District to wander through and around the Jekyll Island Club to check out the scene. The architecture of the Hotel does not inspire but the interiors of the oldest sections of the building are lovely and there is the requisite wide veranda with wicker rockers perfect for enjoying the vista of ancient live oaks and the placid river beyond.
After lunch we drove two hours to St. Augustine where we will be for two nights. After dinner we met this lovely bird and his owner who were out for a evening stroll. Two surprising facts about this bird were that it's feathers were amazingly soft and it loved to cuddle.
