^^^^^^^^^ Hey, that's a funny date for this entry. Why? I use this mechanism to keep this entry pegged as the first entry in the travelog. Subsequent entries will appear below, in reverse chronological order -- the most recent entry first. That's the way blogs work. If you want to read more about our plans for this trip, click on the Read More link on the next line to the right. This year we are taking a similar route as our trip to this area in 2014 with the exception that we are skipping the cruise in favor of a week's stay in the Everglades at an AirBandB that features accommodations in one of four vintage AirStream trailers: And then of course there is the much anticipated visit to the Butch Anthony's Museum of Wonder in Seale, Alabama which is somewhere between the "gatehouse": and the museum proper: The trip isn't a total trip to the Funky South -- although, what's wrong with that? We will be visiting some other mainstream places such as Stratford Hall Plantation in Stratford, VA: In Richmond, we plan to visit the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts: In Sarasota, we will visit our good friends Alex and Kathy McKenzie. We have spent a fair amount of time in Naples. When we were there in 2009, the Naples Botanical Garden was just about to open. We'd like to see it this time. In Miami there are many museums that we know about, but have never paused long enough to visit. One is the newly relocated Perez Art Museum. Finally, we will visit some places we have enjoyed in the past, including Beaufort and Charleston South Carolina. Finally, we will be home in time for Lexington's annual Town Meeting.

So will you be going through NYC on your return? If so, you might want to visit the Museum of the City of New York, for this:

Glad you enjoyed reading about where we went. We write these travelogs as a way of remembering what we did on our trips. It's great to be of service to others in planning trips.
