Another windy day (17 mph) so we headed inland to the Audubon Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary for a stroll on their boardwalk through the swamp.

Good:   There was enough wind there so there were no mosquitos.

Bad:  The water level in the swamp was so high that there were only two wading birds and almost no alligators in sight.

Good:  We did see two hawks (one red breasted and one red shouldered), a night heron, a blue-eyed vireo, cardinals, and red crested woodpeckers.

Bad:  The reason we went to Corkscrew today was the same reason many others went there today.   At times there were traffic jams on the boardwalk.

All things considered we had a nice day.

Thanks, Alex. I had to do a lot of post processing cropping to get what I got. The water was very high, precluding the wading birds from being around, so all of the birds were those that either were tall or perched high. But, as you know, if you take your time and look around, there is always something you can focus on that is beautiful at Corkscrew.
