Staying with our musical theme for New Orleans and wanting to get out and walk we decided that our first destination of the day would be Louis Armstrong Park, which is just north of the French Quarter.

Since the No. 5 bus didn’t show we had our first ever Uber Ride to our destination. The driver was there in three minutes, the car clean and the route direct. Good service, relatively inexpensive, certainly made our life more pleasant.
The park although relatively small is nicely landscaped, the statues are striking and the informational signs informative. We’ll let the photos tell the story.

Then we walked back through the streets of the upper French Quarter to Café Beignet on Royal Street for lunch. After lunch Marsha did some shopping and Harry some sketching.
We drove to the other side of town to meet Bobbie Beyer (New Orleans resident and daughter of our friends Rick and Marilyn Rea Beyer. Bobbie’s neighborhood on Magazine Street has lots of shops and restaurants including La Petite Grocery where we had a great dinner and good conversation.
